Here's a hodgepodge of other projects.
Retrocity - "Mixtape"
Retrocity's outrageously fun a cappella arrangements of '70s and '80s classics are detailed and playful, with an emphasis on sonic experimentation and instrument imitation.
As one of several mixers on their second full-length album, I was asked to tackle their covers of Kate Bush and Pink Floyd.
Mix.
The Ruach Singers & Cantor Eric Moses - "Crossroads"
The Ruach Singers re-interpret traditional Hebrew liturgical music through a contemporary a cappella lens. They were joined on this album by the great Cantor Eric Moses.
Full album recording, editing, mix.
Caroly Lill - "If I Go"
Caroly and I recorded a bunch of beds for her debut album "Arms Akimbo" and then passed off most of the tracks to the very talented James Bunton for further production and mix, but I was thrilled when Caroly asked me to take a few of the songs to the finish line, including "If I Go", a song we co-wrote.
Songwriting, recording, production, mix.
Bageshree - Album Work
Kathak dancer, choreographer, vocalist and recording artist Bageshree Vaze recorded the instrumental bed tracks for her albums Tarana, Avatar (9) and Ragas and Rhythms in Delhi, but returned to Toronto for all the vocal tracking. Bageshree's flawless singing is a joy to record; we rarely need second takes.
Vocal recording.
